KAL standstill

My Featherweight Cardi progress has come to a screeching halt!
The body is finished, and I just bound off the collar part….and tried it on…well, let’s just say, I’m going to have to redo the last part.
Here’s my dilemma. I decided to work the collar in a K1, P1 rib. But because it is a lace-weight yarn worked on larger size needles, it looks a bit like a lace pattern, and I like that, but, still, a K1, P1 rib will end up gathering the fabric  (if you know what I mean), so now the front looks short, and almost ruched.  NOT a good look. So I will have to unravel it and redo it in a plain stockinette……ahhhhh, frustrating!  I Can’t bring myself to undo it just yet…..

  1. Oh no, I feel for you hun. Don't worry about the deadline. The point was to get you all knitting, we may even postpone it a bit if everywhere is in the same spot. I'm fighting to get mine done as well. The picking up of stitches has slowed me down and I've had to redo it about a gazillion times and the math. Oh well. It'll get there, one stitch at a time right :)

p.s. it's a gorgeous color and is very lovely!

  2. Argh! I find myself in that same spot way too often. My tendency is to put the project away and let it sit for a year, then when I finally get back to it I kick myself because it's usually a lot easier to fix than I made it out to be. Is there any way you could run a "lifeline" through the last row of stockinette stitches, then rip back to them so you don't have to undo each stitch one by one? Just a thought! It's gorgeous BTW!

  3. One stitch at a time it will have to be Shannon, you are right. I feel a little better about it today!

Erika, I have to admit that never crossed my mind. That's genius! I'm going to try it.

And ladies, thanks for the compliments!
